Dr. João Vide is an orthopaedic surgeon exclusively dedicated to foot and ankle pathology. He heads the Foot & Ankle Unit at Hospital da Luz Lisbon and Hospital CUF Faro, coordinates Orthopaedics at CNS — Campus Neurológico Sénior Lisbon, and is also University Teacher at the Catolica Medical School and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He is also a Certified Teacher of the Minimally Invasive Foot & Ankle Society (MIFAS) and the European Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Society (ESSKA). He is the director of the ESSKA Teaching Center at Hospital da Luz Lisboa and the ISAKOS-certified Lisbon Foot & Ankle Fellowship Programme.

Fellowship-trained at leading international centres — Hospital for Special Surgery (New York), Amsterdam, Basel and Bordeaux — his practice focuses on minimally invasive and percutaneous foot surgery, ankle arthroscopy and Achilles tendon pathology, the subject of his ongoing PhD thesis.
